Response surface methodology approach for dyeing process optimization of Ayous (Triplochiton scleroxylon) wood with acid dye

Dyeing of wood is an important value-adding process. An indicator in the assessment performance dyeing process dye penetration. In present study, existing method response surface methodology was extended to study optimization Ayous (Triplochiton scleroxylon) with acid using radial penetration percentage as indicator. The experiments were carried out on basis a single factor experiment, and optimal condition determined by means Box–Behnken Design methodology. effects temperature, concentration, time accelerant mass fraction optimized. experimental results showed that maximum permeability can be achieved under optimum temperature (86.03 °C), concentration (0.31%), (8 h), (2.23%). Under these conditions, dye-uptake found 14.28% 22.34%, respectively. analysis variance indicated mathematical model proposed this used predict changing parameters.
